Professional Bio

Emily Siner is a Pulitzer-finalist editor based in Nashville, Tenn. She was the executive producer of WNYC's More Perfect as the nationally acclaimed podcast relaunched in 2023. Previously, she served as the news director of Nashville Public Radio, leading an innovative newsroom that was frequently recognized for its service to local journalism. She also edited the Peabody Award-winning podcast The Promise, about inequality in Nashville public schools, and co-edited a longform investigation with ProPublica that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize, the Goldsmith Award, and a National Magazine Award. Stories she edited about criminal justice in Tennessee led to the early release of two men from prison. In 2022, she was a U.S. Fulbright Scholar at Maynooth University in Ireland, where researched how Irish journalists covered abortion. She specializes in story editing — helping other journalists elevate their reporting and storytelling — and supporting newsroom leaders through coaching and trainings.
