Eligibility:

Five years or less of total paid journalism experience (prior to the nomination deadline). Age is not a determining factor; passion and early-career achievements are key.

Minimum of one year working at a PMJA member station

Demonstrated journalistic excellence in any format (reporting, production, editing, multimedia)

Innovative and impactful storytelling, engaging local communities

Commitment to the core values of public media: serving the public interest, fostering trust, and promoting diverse voices
Selection Criteria:
Submissions will be evaluated based on:

Quality of work: Strength of reporting, writing, editing, or production skills

Impact: Evidence of the nominee's work making a difference in their community

Innovation: Use of creative storytelling techniques and platforms

Commitment to public media: Exemplary adherence to its core values

Letters of support: Two strong endorsements from colleagues or supervisors
