Editors Workshop

Join PMJA Editor Corps Editors for this intensive workshop that will help editors and aspiring editors develop the tools they need to provide the best editing support.
We will approach the editing process holistically, focusing on working in partnership with  reporters to create impactful news stories and features.
Topics covered will include:

  • Ideation and story development
  • Identifying, vetting sources
  • Writing and editing across platforms
  • Relationship building
  • Fact-checking and vetting
  • Editing for clarity and pacing
  • Ethical considerations

Much of the day will be spent listening, editing and reviewing news stories and features. Participants will also take part in presentations, and question and answer sessions. And time will be devoted to discussing and improving the editor/reporter relationship.

This workshop is appropriate for newer editors as well as experienced editors seeking to hone their skills.


Attendance for each session is limited to 20 participants and will fill quickly!
