Professional Bio
George Bodarky is Community Partnerships & Training Editor at WNYC. George is an award-winning journalist who spent more than two decades overseeing and producing news and public affairs content at WFUV FM, an NPR affiliate station based on the Rose Hill campus of Fordham University in the Bronx. In his role at WFUV, George helped to build and manage a nationally recognized training program for aspiring multimedia journalists. George has long hosted and produced a weekly award-winning program called "Cityscape," exploring the people, places and spirit of New York City. He is an adjunct professor of journalism at Fordham University and the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. George has also taught at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. He is a past president of Public Radio News Directors, Inc. (now Public Media Journalists Association) and a past president of the New York State Associated Press Association. He also serves on the executive council of the Deadline Club and is on the board of the New York Press Club. George is widely known for his vocal performance coaching and journalism training. He has led training sessions at conferences and in public media newsrooms across the country. Prior to working at WFUV, George spent many years as an anchor, reporter and news manager in commercial radio and television.
