Professional Bio

Luis-Alfredo Garcia is Central Florida Public Media’s inaugural Emerging Journalist Fellow. Originally from Miami, he moved to Gainesville and earned a degree in Journalism from the University of Florida. During his time there, he worked with WUFT News to report on topics like school board races, gender-affirming care and Florida manatees. Now in Orlando, Luis-Alfredo hopes to serve his new community well.
