Professional Bio

Emma VandenEinde is a reporter and host for KUNC and was formerly a reporter for the Mountain West News Bureau, a regional reporting collaboration between 14 different NPR-affiliate stations across the West. Her work has been featured on popular NPR programs such as Here and Now, Science Friday, The World and more. She has worked on in-depth stories about wheelchair technology on public lands, the chefs that are bringing Indigenous cuisine to Colorado, and how Boulder Police is using drones in their work. Recently her reporting on the lack of clean water access on Indigenous land won first place at the Public Media Journalists Association awards in June. Her reporting on unhoused college students in Fort Collins also resulted in more than $55,000 in donations to an organization that provides subsidized housing in the community. Before coming to Colorado, she worked for Arizona PBS and NPR-affiliate station KJZZ. The daily news podcast she produced and hosted at Arizona PBS was awarded a National Edward R. Murrow Award for Excellence In Audio Newscast. When she's not reporting, you can find her sinking a disc golf putt, obsessing over a new type of tea, or singing at her local church.
