Professional Bio
Megan Kamerick has been a journalist for over two decades and currently serves as the news director at KUNM-FM in Albuquerque, where she also produces University Showcase and a newscast focused on stories about women. She previously hosted All Things Considered and Morning Edition at the station. She produced public affairs shows at New Mexico PBS as well as podcasts on women’s suffrage and the cannabis industry, and she continues as a correspondent with the station. Megan has freelanced for various magazines, NPR, Latino USA, Marketplace, Capital & Main, Peace Talks Radio and the Solutions Journalism Network, where she was also a fellow. She began her career after grad school at Marquette University working as a business reporter and editor in San Antonio, New Orleans and Albuquerque. Megan is the previous president of the Journalism & Women Symposium, a national organization. Currently she serves on the boards of the Society of Professional Journalists-Rio Grande Chapter and Good Radio Shows. Megan has done two TED talks on women and media and is a TED speaker coach. She is also a mentor-editor with The OpEd Project.
