Professional Bio
Susanna Capelouto is the Southern Bureau Chief for NPR headquartered in Atlanta. Before joining NPR in February 2023, Susanna was Deputy Managing Editor for member station WABE in Atlanta. Susanna previously served as News Director at Georgia Public Broadcasting, where she worked for over a decade. Between those public radio stints, Susanna worked at CNN where she was an editor and writer for digital and podcasts.
In her role as Southern Bureau Chief she collaborates with member station journalists in 13 states on stories for all of NPR’s platforms.
As a journeyman beekeeper Susanna cares for her growing apiary when she’s not editing stories. And she does have a lot of bee stories if you want to hear them.
